HOW DOES THE VIRTUAL RACE WORK?
Q) WHAT IS A VIRTUAL RACE?
A) A virtual race is a race that can be run “virtually” anywhere. Instead of all participants gathering together on the same day at the same time in the same location, participants have the ability to runthe 5K or Half Marathon on their own in their own neighborhood or favorite running spot. Once the run has been completed, registered participants will upload their results (instructions will be sent separately) and participants will still be part of the community to complete the Road Runner Sports Craft Classic Half Marathon & 5K!
Q) WHAT IF I CAN'T RUN ON SUNDAY, AUGUST 30TH?
A) That’s OK! As long as you’re able to get your results uploaded by Monday, August 31st at 11:59pm, your results will be counted. You’re also welcome to post your Half Marathon or 5K results before August 30th! If you need to post your results after the deadline that’s okay too, however your results will not count toward awards which will be tallied on Tuesday, September 1st.
Q) DO I HAVE TO RUN THE OFFICIAL COURSE?
A) NO. In order to maintain social and psychical distance, we encourage you to pick the location best for you. No need to go to Green Flash Brewery - you can run in your neighborhood, by the beach, through a park, or anywhere else you prefer. Just make sure the course is a full Half Marathon or 5K!
Q) HOW DO I PROVE I RAN THE RACE?
A) Results for the Virtual Road Runner Sports Craft Classic Half Marathon & 5K will be an honor system. We have partnered with Runkeeper™ to track your results in real time. But, if you do not wish to utilize that function that’s OK. After you’ve completed your run, you will follow the instructions to manually post your time to our results page. No photos or videos need to be sent to us. But please feel free to post those on social media and tag us #craftclassic #sdrunningco
Q) WHEN WILL I RECEIVE MY PARTICIPANT GOODS?
A) Participant goods will be available for pick up at Road Runner Sports (on Copley Dr.) on Saturday, August 22nd from 11:00am – 5:00pm. If you do not feel comfortable coming in person, we will mail the remaining packets to the address provided by the registrant on Monday, August 23rd. They should be received by all participants by Thursday, August 26th. Your participant packet will include your race bib, participant t-shirt and your finisher medal. We will also be mailing you instructions on how to use Runkeeper™ or upload your results manually.
HOW DO I TRACK MY RUN & UPLOAD MY RESULTS?
To create a seamless virtual event experience, we've partnered with Race Roster and the ASICS Runkeeper™ app to bring you the best way to record your run/walk and automatically upload your results.
Once you register you will follow these easy steps to complete your virtual run or walk:
Download the app (optional) and set up your free Runkeeper™ account.
Add the Road Runner Sports Craft Classic Half Marathon & 5K to Runkeeper™ by clicking the button in the official email we sent you. You can add your run ahead of time to ensure it's set up properly.
Click the flag icon in the app w hen you are ready to run. Results will post automatically to Race Roster.
Viewing and Posting Results
Participants are welcome to use their own tracking software of devices. If you do not use Runkeeper™ simply click the button below and send us your results.
