San Diego Craft Classic Half Marathon & 5K is now part of the San Diego Running Co. event portfolio!
San Diego, CA – January 9, 2019 – San Diego Running Co., San Diego’s premier race management company, is thrilled to announce the newest addition to their event portfolio: San Diego Craft Classic Half Marathon and 5K. The event will be entering its 4th year and will take place on July 14, 2019 at Green Flash Brewery in Mira Mesa.
The event was founded in 2016 by Road Runner Sports and had been owned and managed by their team as part of a national running series held in 5 cities. As part of the ownership transition, Road Runner Sports will continue to be a major sponsor of the San Diego event, working closely with San Diego Running Co. to see the run maintain its success for years to come. With nearly 3,000 participants each year in San Diego, it’s become one of the most popular half marathons in the city.
Eric Marenburg, Chief Running Officer and Co-Founder of San Diego Running Co., said “After supporting this event operationally for the last three years, we are so excited at the opportunity to take over the reins of one of San Diego’s top half marathons. In a very short period of time, Road Runner Sports grew Craft Classic into one of the summer’s must-do running events. 2019 San Diego Craft Classic Half Marathon & 5K will take place at the Green Flash Brewery, 6550 Mira Mesa Blvd, San Diego, CA 92121 starting at 6:30a. In addition to their race entry, all participants will receive a soft cotton event shirt, commemorative beer glass, custom finisher’s medal and a free craft beer at the Green Flash craft beer garden following the race.
