SDRC Run Club Cup
đ The SDRC Run Club Cup
One Season. Five Events. One Champion.
The Run Club Cup is a season-long competition celebrating the clubs that show up, race together, and represent their community across every SDRC event.
Every mile your members run earns points for your club. At the end of the season, one club will lift the Run Club Cup.
2026 – 2027 Season
The Run Club Cup follows the full SDRC race calendar:

*Standings reset each year following the Leprechaun Run.
Team Registration
To earn Club Cup points:
- Your team must be a verified run club and have an official SDRC team created for each qualifying event.
- Members must register under that team prior to race weekend.
- Points/team additions cannot be added retroactively after an event has concluded.
(This keeps scoring accurate and fair for every participating club.)

Frequently Asked Questions
How does my run club earn points?
Every finisher registered under your clubâs official team earns points based on the distance they actually finish. One mile = one point, so a 5K finisher earns 3.1 points, a 10K finisher earns 6.2 points, and a Half Marathon finisher earns 13.1 points for their club.
Are points based on the distance I register for or the distance I finish?
Actual finish results. Points are awarded based on the official race results, not simply the distance you registered for.
Do I need to join my clubâs team when I register?
Yes. To earn points for your club, you must be registered under your clubâs official team before race weekend. Team affiliations and points cannot be added retroactively after an event has concluded.
What if Iâm already registered but forgot to join my clubâs team?
You can still be added to your clubâs team as long as you make the change before race weekend. Once the event has concluded, team affiliations cannot be changed for Run Club Cup scoring.
Can any team participate in the Run Club Cup?
Run Club Cup teams must represent a verified run club and have an official SDRC team created for each qualifying event.
Do Kids Runs or the Santa Run Dog Mile count toward Club Cup points?
No. Run Club Cup points are awarded for race distances of 5K and above. Kids Runs, the Dog Mile, and other distances shorter than a 5K do not count toward Club Cup standings.
What if I run multiple events in a specific race?
Both count! Example: if you register for and finish BOTH the 8am and 10am waves of the Santa Run, youâll earn 6.2 total points for your club.
What about the O’side Turkey Trot Double Dip?
Double Dip finishers complete two 5Ks, so they earn 6.2 points for their club.
Can I earn points at more than one SDRC event?
Absolutelyâthatâs the idea! The Run Club Cup is a season-long competition across all five qualifying SDRC events. Every qualifying mile you finish throughout the season adds to your clubâs cumulative total.
How is the Run Club Cup champion determined?
At the end of the season, the club with the most cumulative miles wins the SDRC Run Club Cup.
When does the season reset?
Standings reset each year following the San Diego Leprechaun Run, which is the final event of the Run Club Cup season.
What does the winning club receive?
The top three clubs receive cash prizes:
1st Place â $1,000
2nd Place â $500
3rd Place â $250
The first-place club also has its name engraved on the official SDRC Run Club Cup and receives exclusive VIP restroom access at the Pacific Beach Half Marathon & 5K that kicks off the following season.
